Sounds like so much fun and what a great way to get the girls interested in writing techniques. I bet it was the most fun writing class they’ve ever had!

Thank you!! It may be the most fun writing class I've ever had. LOL. I just loved how they kept breaking into song together. I've always said that Taylor is such a great role model for girls--but I love that they're going to think of her as a writer now, too.All of us novelists were those little girls writing in our journals in our bedrooms at one point. :)

I love this so much - I read the whole thing out to my girls, aged 14 and 10, and they loved it too and we then spent a while listening to all the songs mentioned!

OMG, you did? I love that. Thank you for sharing it with your girls. Did any of Taylor's songs stand out to them for the writing? The girls kept telling me about lines in songs that I didn't even remember. It's interesting to see what resonates with who and why. :)

Both girls said they liked Getaway Car and Style, and my 14yo added Shake It Off. I must go and listen to the lyrics more closely myself now! I love your emphasis on practice and effort too. So easy to see the dazzle, and not the years and years of work that has gone into it!
